The most common form of commercial plaster mouldings, cornices
and coving are commonly found in historical buildings, hotels and high-end
restaurants. They create a decorative transition between upper walls and
ceilings.

The ceiling rose was highly popular during the Victorian era
and, to a lesser degree, in the Edwardian era. In recent years, they've made
something of a comeback, although contemporary ceiling roses tend to be simpler
in form than their predecessors.

Architraves and casings are used around doors and windows to enhance their aesthetic appeal and to create decorative cohesion with other elements such as cornices, coving and ceiling roses.

Plaster corbels are decorative support shelves often found at the top of columns, under mantles or shelving or at the end of arches where they create a pleasing transition to the wall.

Pilasters are non-load-bearing columns that primarily serve a
decorative purpose. Capitals, on the other hand, sit atop pilasters or columns
and are typically either Doric, Ionic or Corinthian in design.

Skirting boards run along the bottom of a wall, creating a
decorative transition between the wall and the floor. Skirting boards may be
very simple in design or quite ornate.
